FASTEST SUPERYACHT IN THE WORLD

World is not Enough 70 knots Netherlands

World is not Enough
World is not Enough was built by Millenium Super Yachts, a company set up by American businessmen John Staluppi and John Rosatti in 1998 to build the fastest and most beautiful yachts in the world. Designed by Dutch naval architect Frank Mulder, World Is Not Enough is the only yacht to have reached 70 knots. She is propelled by two Paxman diesel engines and two Lycoming gas turbines, producing a staggering 20600hp. But she is not just about speed - her interior, designed by Evan K. Marshall, can accommodate 10 guests and is as luxurious as any of the yachts featured on this site.

Alamshar 65 knots | 2008 Great Britain

Alamshar
This yacht has been kept a closely guarded secret but we understand that she has been developed to include the very latest gas turbines. This unique propulsion system which so far has not been employed on any other yachts is to give the yacht exceptional performance, providing the capability of speeds up to 65 knots. With no less than 6 gas turbines and 3 water jets she must be one of the most advanced superyachts ever produced. Due to this new technology she has undergone an extended development programme with several sea trials, which is why, despite the secrecy, she has been spotted several times before disappearing into the covered facilities in the yard.

8. MiG-31 FoxHound -  Mikoyan-Gurevish’s MiG-31 is classified as an “all-weather interceptor and ECM aircraft.” Initially mistaken by western intelligence as a “superdogfighter,” the MiG-31 has a published maximum speed of 1,865 miles per hour.
7. Bell X-2 “Starbuster”- According to NASA, “The Bell X-2 was a rocket-powered, swept-wing research aircraft designed to investigate the structural effects of aerodynamic heating as well as stability and control effectiveness at high speeds and altitudes.” On 9/27/1956, Capt. Milburn G. Apt and the X-2 were the first pilot and aircraft to travel three times the speed of sound, reaching 2,094 miles per hour just before control divergence caused the X-2 to fatally tumble to the ground.

6. XB-70 ValkyrieThe XB-70A Valkyrie was built by North American Aviation for the U.S Air Force Strategic Air Command as a high-altitude bomber. Due to funds limitations only two XB-70 aircraft were built, and those were used instead as research aircraft for advanced study of aerodynamics. The published maximum speed of the Valkyrie is Mach 3.1 or 2,056 miles per hour.
5. MiG-25 Foxbat – Another Mikoyan-Gurevish all-weather interceptor, the MiG-25 is one of the fastest combat aircraft ever produced, capable of speeds in excess of Mach 2.83. The MiG-25 was designed as a countermeasure for the XB-70 Valkyrie.
4. SR-71 Blackbird – The Lockheed SR-71 design originated in the 1950′s and the first flight of a Blackbird was completed in late 1964. The SR-71 is designed to cruise at the unthinkable speed of 2,200 miles per hour and is capable of doing so for over an hour. According to NASA, “NASA crews flew four Lockheed SR-71 airplanes during the 1990s. Two were used for research and two to support Air Force reactivation of the SR-71 for reconnaissance missions.” The final flight of the SR-71 was on 10/9/1999.
3. X-15This rocket-propelled aircraft was built for military use by the California North American Aviation plant. According to Boeing, “It exceeded its design specifications of 4,000 miles per hour and altitudes up to 50 miles.” Boeing’s history pages indicate, “Air Force Capt. William “Pete” Knight took the X-15A-2 to the fastest speed recorded during the program, Mach 6.7, during an Oct. 3, 1967 flight.” Boeing also, oddly, claims, “A new version, known as the X-15A-2, designed for flight at eight times faster than sound, at an altitude of 100,000 feet and creating potential temperatures of over 2400 degrees Fahrenheit, was turned over to the U.S. Air Force by the Los Angeles plant in February 1964.”
2. X-43ADescribed by NASA as a “hypersonic, scramjet-powered research aircraft” the X-43A broke its own Guinness World Record for speed by a jet-powered aircraft on 11/16/2004. The X-43A’s final flight yielded a speed of almost 7,000 miles per hour (Mach 9.6).
1. Space Shuttle -   NASA’s space shuttle is the fastest aircraft in the world. It began setting records with its first launch on April 12, 1981 and continued to set high marks of achievement and endurance through 30 years of missions. FASTEST CAR IN THE WORLD

Fastest Cars #1: Hennessey Venom GT, 260 mph (418 km/h), 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

Our fastest car has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, with a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could hit a top speed of 275 mph. This might just be the Veyron Super Sport’s closest challenger!.  This is the fastest car in the world after Guinness book of world record had declared that Bugatti veyron speed were manipulated. Thus pushing down Bugatti veyron to second rank in our list of top 10 fastest cars. fastest carsSource: http://www.stuff.co.nz/motoring/8519971/Bugatti-Veyron-stripped-of-fastest-car-title.

Fastest Cars #2: Koenigsegg Agera R, 260 mph (418 km/h), 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds.

5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you’re into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires. Fastest Cars #3: Bugatti Veyron EB, 16.4 258mph (415.2 km/h).

Boasting a maximum speed of more than 400 km per hour, the Veyron is unmatched in the super sports category. It offers a total of 736 kW (1,001 HP), and its ample power reserves even at high speeds are the fabric of dreams for luxury-class limousines: for a constant speed of 250 km/h. The Veyron only needs 270-280 HP. This means that the seven-gear clutch transmission works with a torque of up to 1,250 Newton meters. The Electronic Stability Program ensures the necessary flexibility and maneuverability at any speed. The Veyron reaches velocities that would literally lift the car off the ground. If it were not for its ingenious aerodynamics, which keeps it firmly on the road even at full speed. Adjusting the back spoiler, reducing ground clearance, opening and closing the lids – it all adds to the perfect balance between propulsion and down force. Such a super sports car may not seem to be brought to a halt easily, but the Veyron’s ceramic brakes slow it down faster than it can accelerate. While it takes this exceptional car only 2.5 seconds to go from 0 to 100 km/h, it needs even less time – a mere 2.3 seconds – to come to a standstill from 100 (reference point). To cut the risk of injuries in accidents, Bugatti had a Formula 1 safety concept adapted for the Veyron. All these technical details combine to make the Veyron a truly exceptional super sports car. This is the third fastest cars in top 10 fastest cars list. fastest cars   There is a tie for  #3 on  fastest cars list.
